Ahead of the Wave is a record of our thinking as we consider retiring to Italy and redesigning the next chapter of our lives.
We are a married couple currently living in New York. One of us was born in Italy, and both of us are trying to understand what a move would really involve: financially, practically, culturally, and personally.
Here we document what we learn along the way, including retirement planning, taxes, healthcare, housing, bureaucracy, different places to live, and the tradeoffs behind the decisions.
